The cabin exterior features a wrap-around porch, metal roof and parking for 2 cars. Inside, you’ll find a rustic pine interior and corrugated metal ceiling throughout. Brand new mini-split AC/Heat units in both the living room and bedroom to keep you comfortable year-round. Reliable high-speed internet/wifi is provided by Starlink (SpaceX) with speeds up to 50Mb bandwidth. There is also a smoke and carbon monoxide detector and a fire extinguisher inside.

For an additional fee, you can access our 30a, 240v outlet to charge your electric vehicle. A Weber grill, grill accessories, charcoal, lighter fluid are included UNLESS Grimes County has a burn ban in effect. If a burn ban is in effect, no fires of any kind are allowed anywhere on the property.

The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric range/oven and a full-size refrigerator, microwave, blender, Keurig coffee maker with assorted coffees, an aluminum stove top espresso/coffee maker, french press, coffee grinder and an electric tea kettle. Creamer/sweetener provided. The kitchen also has everything you’ll need to bake, cook and serve a full meal (except the food!), including mixing bowls, measuring cups/spoons, utensils, knives, pots/pans, olive oil and salt/pepper and assorted spices. A complete set of coffee cups, plates, bowls, glasses, wine glasses and silverware are also included.

The bedroom has a King size Casper mattress, hypoallergenic down-alternative comforter, 4 king size and 4 standard pillows, high-quality sheets and pillow cases (all with waterproof, allergen-free, protective encasements), a full-size closet, 2 end-tables with lamps and multi-port USB chargers and a wall-mounted TV with remote. A lockable, secured safe is located in the closet. If needed, we’ve got a Serta, self-inflating queen-size air mattress with sheets/blanket/pillows for the living room. An iron and full-size ironing board are also provided.

The bathroom has an antique, cast-iron claw-foot tub with shower attachment with an assortment of high quality face, hand and bath towels. In case you forget something, we provide complimentary soaps, shampoos, conditioner, moisturizers, makeup remover towelettes, deodorants, toothpastes, mouthwash, toothbrushes and more. We even include complimentary bubblebath and bath bombs to relax in the tub! A hair dryer, sewing kit, small electric heater and emergency first aid kit are also included.

The living area features a small sofa and chair, 4k TV, Roku (with guest access to enter your own Netflix/Hulu/Disney+/etc accounts) and surround sound. If TV isn't your thing, we provide a number of games, puzzles and coloring books for your enjoyment. Two soft, comfy blankets are also provided. The chair and table easily move out of the way for the self-inflating Queen-sized Serta air mattress. A fold-away, wall-mounted butcher block table can be used as both a dining table or a dedicated desk/workspace.

The cabin sits on 18 fully-fenced and secured wooded acres with a pond, running creek and abundant wildlife. You’ll regularly see ducks, woodpeckers, cardinals, blue jays, guinea hens, a blue heron we call "George," deer, squirrels, rabbits, armadillos, frogs, and even a family of beavers! We're also about half-mile from the St. Francis Wolf sanctuary and are treated to their beautiful howls 2-3x/day. The pond has 2 very large carp, 5 catfish and numerous perch that love to be hand fed. We’ll even provide you with some healthy food for them–just no fishing, please!

The property consists of 3 main areas. The front area with pond and cabin are about 3.5 acres and are yours to use exclusively while you stay. The middle section is bout 5 acres and contains the owner's barndominium and shed. A gravel road runs from the front gate to the back of the second section. The third section is about 10-11 acres of pasture and trees. A walking trail of about 1 mi stays regularly mowed. You are free to visit/enjoy the back pasture for walks, bird-watching or a picnic. Overnight tent camping in the pasture is allowed at your own risk with prior permission from the owner.
